About us

Several years ago, we found ourselves searching for something which was missing in our lives. We were looking for a way to relax, simplify and enjoy our lives more. In short we were searching for some ‘peace of mind’ away from the stresses of everyday life, some time for us.

Our travels brought us to a place on the edge of the wilderness where we were greeted by complete strangers, but treated as old friends. We shared a cup of coffee, some conversation and gained some valuable knowledge about our search. Swift Canoe and Kayak pointed us to the water, gave us a canoe and said go have fun, no fees, no ‘catch’. By the end of the day we had paddled various canoes, had returned to nature and discovered we had relaxed, simplified and enjoyed our day more than any we could remember.

We returned several times to Swift and each and every time we were greeted as old friends. We were never pressured and never interrogated. We are now the proud owners of a gorgeous blue tint Mattawa canoe. Now whenever we want ‘our time’ we can paddle away our concerns, at least for a while, right here in the beautiful Maritimes. We had a long search and travelled far but in the end Swift Canoe and Kayak was ‘our’ destination.
